I took an art class during my senior year of college. Midway, the professor suggested that I switch majors from Philosophy to Art. With graduation pending, I tucked his advice away and headed off for graduate studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary.
I wanted a program that would combine Jewish art and academics, but inter-disciplinary had not yet come of age. So I took art classes here and there (Bezalel in Jerusalem, Parsons in New York) while earning my MA at JTS.
I then moved to California and attended rabbinical school. I launched ARTasRESPONSA® in 1999 while preparing to go on-leave from my rabbinic studies. Traditionally, responsa are rabbinic answers to religious questions. Thanks for taking time to view my designs.
